Typical Chinese snacks found at many night markets aka pasar malam. selalu menjadi rebutan orang ramai. here is a simple way to make this snack using the microwave! haha.

Amy Beh's recipe:

Ingredients
    (A)::

  • 340g glutinous rice flour

  • 290ml to 310ml water
    (B):

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 3 to 4 tbsp pati santan
    Groundnut mixture (mix together):

  • 175g toasted peanuts, pounded

  • 250g granulated sugar

  • 4 tbsp cooked groundnut oil

    Method
Mix (A) well and add in (B) gradually to form a smooth and soft dough. Make into thin pancakes and boil till light and puffy. Transfer to a bowl and mix in 4 tbsp cooked groundnut oil.

Cut out Mua Chee pieces and coat with groundnut mixture.

    OR

  • Ingredients:

    1 cup glutinous rice flour
    2 tsp sugar
    2 tbsp thick coconut milk
    1 tbsp cooking oil
    150 ml water
2 tbsp fragrant oil(oil fried with shallots)

    Coating:

1/2 cup of chopped toasted peanuts
1/4 cup of fine granulated sugar
    1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
     or
     Chop or pound peanut brittles

    Method:

Mix glutinous rice flour, sugar, coconut milk, oil and water in a microwable bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir well and cook on high for another minute. Stir well, it should be cooked but if you are having a lower wattage microwave you might have to cook another minute more.

Add in the 2 tbsp of fragrant oil(cooking oil straight from the bottle will do - only no fragrance)

    Let the dough cool.

Add the peanut, sesame seeds and sugar mixture to the dough and using an oiled scissor, snip into smaller pieces and coat well with peanuts. (if not serving the whole portion, remove a small piece enough to eat, and put into the coating, then snip from there. Remove the coated dough for serving and leave the coating for the rest of the dough). credits to Lily Ng

    OR 3rd recommended method:

    Ingredients:
    Dough:
    250 grams glutinous rice flour
    1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    2 tbsp water

    Topping:
    1 pack of toasted peanuts
    Sugar, to taste

    Directions:
Mix dough with water and form into small pieces of dough.
In a large pot heat water until briskly boiling, then put the dough in the boiling water. It will float when cooked.
Scoop out the cooked dough and put it on a plate.
Repeat until all the dough has been cooked.
Use scissors to cut it into bite sized portions before mixing it well with the vege oil.

Then, blend the peanuts into powder and add sugar to taste.
Take the dough pieces and roll in the ground peanut powder.
Continue rolling in peanut powder until all of the Muah Chee pieces are entirely coated with the peanut powder.
    Serve Muah Chee warm.

    ENJOY !

    salam
