Love, Marriage & Selecting Your Life Partner: Etiquette in Islam - By: Yasmin Mogahed

Bismillah.

Sharing is caring. I guess it's worth listening though it's something most of us already know, it serves as a good reminder regardless since us human tend to forget to acknowledge things despite knowing what's right or wrong in our hearts. Ignorance is indeed seeded in every being, what distinguishes one from another is how he/she deals and work around it.

The talk has a very nice touch to its ending.. we love through Allah not love Allah through anything else.. i.e. we love Allah and Allah loves smthg therefore we love that smthg cos Allah loves it..

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good ramadhan so far.

WAllahua'lam.

Time management

Bismillah.

Assalamualaikum & Greetings!

Alhamdulillah. Praise be to Allah SWT for such a wonderful day.

I have to say that I am very happy for today's opportunity to go for Friday prayers as I have not gone for it in such a long time. Yes, it is unfortunate but I don't have much of a choice either. Attending it this afternoon definitely brought joy to me and enriched my soul all over again. Seeing so many brothers and sisters, all of us walking towards prayer in congregation. MASHALLAH, what a blessing it is for me to witness this! As if "refueling" the spirit of my Imaan. It also reminded me of why I love Islam so very much, how I fell in love with it. Alhamdulillah. Such rejuvenation and  refreshing feeling, ahh, THANK YOU GOD! =)

Thus, I would like to share the main point of today's khutbah regarding time management.

Always remind ourselves and others to NOT WASTE our:

TIME
ENERGY
RESOURCES
BOUNTY
ETC.

Manage time wisely with beneficial stuff. Support it with our tongue and actions. Ask yourself, do you spend too much time online? And if you do, what kind of stuff are you browsing or doing? Keeping up with world news, scientific discoveries, finance updates, philosophical ebook/articles, iQuran, etc.? Or is it more of social networking, blogging, gaming, movies, drama, etc.? Do you spend too much time in front of TV or doing sports/gym/outdoors? Remember, everything must be done in moderation. Too much of ANYTHING is usually unhealthy for anybody. BALANCE IS THE KEY - one of my favourite phrase.

(And yes, you CAN be your own judge. Are you happy with your answers? You get the drift =))

Keep in mind a majority of those who spend a lot of their time in the remembrance of Allah (SWT) are usually the ones with most peaceful and sound heart.

Nobody's asking you to sacrifice your career or interests to do this. You just got to plan and prioritise well. You will inshaAllah be able to spend time for Him and also have time for your work and other hobbies.

Well, that's in a nutshell of the khutbah. I enjoyed the jemaah prayers. Feels so good!! *Happy*

WAllahua'lam

Every soul shall taste death.. perhaps tomorrow?

Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, it is indeed he who has succeeded. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.

NEVER STOP seeking knowledge and the truth

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Salam and greetings!

So I've been busy to update this blog of mine. But then again, time and tide waits for no man. I guess I gotta get myself on another gear so I'm able to do more with the 24 hours a day that God has so generously given me. So wiggle wiggle my way out of the current 'comfort zone' I am in, inshaAllah.

_________________________________________________________

Knowledge leads to paradise,
so seek knowledge.

ISLAM is based on 5 pillars, so DON'T ADD.

IMAN (Faith) is based on 6 pillars, so DON'T ADD.

HALAL & HARAM is already CLEAR, so DON'T CHANGE.

THE STRAIGHT & CROOKED PATH is CLEAR, so DON'T DEVIATE.

BID'AH is a misguidance that Leads to Hellfire,

Don't be an ignorant Muslim, <-- points to myself
Rather read the proof and CHANGE YOURSELF.

Don't blindly follow anyone with the exception of the Prophet (pbuh)

Pray on time, don't backbite, & fear ALLAH~!!
_________________________________________________________

So fellow Muslims,

If we want to change this society,
If we want to change the direction of this society,
If we want to affect this society,
We have to first REFORM ourselves.

May Allah free our neck from Hellfire
May Allah guide those who seek truth
May Allah unite us upon the understanding of Salaah

and most importantly

May Allah give me the ability to complete the next task all in His Name and for His Sake.

Short Film - Tomato (going viral~ awesome)

Bismillah.

YaAllah, sweet sangat ukhuwah (friendship ties) diorang nih. Walaupun mereka kaum Adam tapi paparan elemen saling menyayangi antara satu sama lain itu mantap sekali. Syukur alhamdulillah ada ikhwah sebegini di muka bumi ini. Ana rasa beginilah ikhwah lain patut aspire to be. Tak payahlah nak fikir sayang-menyayangi ini hanya boleh dipraktikkan antara perempuan dan lelaki (i.e. referring to hubungan yang halal of course. Yang dating2 tu sorrylah, hm.. xnak ckp lebih.. takut dosa pula. faham2 je lah ya para pembaca.).

This vid is a great example of how a sweet friendship (penuh halawah) between the same gender can be so fulfilling, wholesome, and touching~! And THIS is the kind of video that should go viral so good messages can be spread to many people out there.

On another note, hats off to them for producing such a good quality short film (I see some great potentials). Hope they keep it up, it sure is a good form of da'wah. May Allah bless them for their efforts dalam memperjuangkan tanggungjawab mereka sebagai hamba2 Allah. (pardon me for such a manglish post this time around.)

P/s: Sebenarnya ana x pernah sangka boleh wujudnya hubungan antara lelaki yang sebegini. Ingatkan hanya kaum hawa sahaja yang erti sweet2 macam nih. Keep it up guys, am impressed. (which doesn't matter of course, what matters is Allah SWT's view, not mine. Duhh.)

Which standard of "religious" are you?

Bismillah.

Salam and greetings,

So I was listening to a sermon during a Friday's prayer few weeks back and I recall wanting to write about it here but well, time's a constraint so too bad. Anyway, here's a statement that is still vivid:

There are 2 standards of being a "religious" person:

1) The more Islamic knowledge you possess, the more "religious" you are.
2) The more spiritual you are, the more "religious" you are.

Upon mention of these hypothesis, I was pretty intrigued by it and I somehow subconsciously had it repeated in my head for a few minutes and consequently, it's pretty much etched in my brain. Haha.

So, which one are you? Or maybe none fits you? Lol.

Anyway, I put religious in quotation marks because there are many ways to interpret that term. I'm not being sarcastic or pointing fingers to anyone, it's just.. yeah, sila tepuk dada tanya Iman;

Are you alim OR warak

WAllahua'lam.

P/s: The term "alim" is very commonly misinterpreted and thus its usage is well, also wrong most of the time.

Hook up with Allah, Allah will hook you up~!

Bismillah.

Assalamualaikum & Greetings to all !

Take a sneek peek -->

"What is hooking up with a brother or sister on gchat or facebook worth in comparison to hooking up with the One who can hook you up?

As Shaykh Muhammad Faqih once said, "Hook up with Allah, Allah will hook you up!"

Let's hook up with salah! Hook up with the Qur'an! Hook up with community work for Allah's Sake! And have certainty that when we struggle to please Allah (SWT), Ash-Shakoor is the Most Appreciative of our work and will undoubtedly reward us.

Will that reward be in the form of an amazing spouse and an amazing marriage? Allah knows best. But the best part is that Allah knows what is BEST for us and that His Bounties are limitless!"

Ramadan Advice - Where is Your Heart?

Bismillah.

Salam alaik & Greetings to all !

So I'm sure everyone is aware that Ramadhan is just around the corner and here is a very nice and touching video I'd like to share with all so that it's not only me who benefits from such a wonderful talk by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf. (Thanks to a dear friend of mine who's so kind to share it with me.) Note: The beginning might not be that appealing but bear with the intro cos the talk gets more and more interesting. Trust me! HIS MESSAGE IS AWESOME!

Do listen to it. It's just ~12 mins. I'm sure you can spare 12 minutes even if you're the most busy person in the world, be it president of the States, busy studying for exam, etc. Seriously, if you don't make time, you'll forever be the I-don't-have-time person. Time and tide waits for no man. Remember, make time for Him and He'll make time for you in return. =) You never know when He'll strip you off your life. Life is fragile.

P/s: Love your God more than any other thing/creation in this Dunya. Live your life as best as you can in this temporary world, for Him and for Jannah aka Paradise! =)

WAllahua'lam.

2. PART 1/2: Call on Me

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu' alaykum and greetings I bid to all,

Today, I'll address the 2nd topic (which corresponds to Session #6 in the Conference) entitled "Call On Me".
*Btw, the "no-update" is due to some circumstances I'm under atm. My apologies.

Please note that my writings are based on my note-taking coupled with my annotations. Thank you.
______________________________________

Speaker 1: Shaykh Tahir Anwar

  • There's a hadith by the Prophet (pbuh) that says that DU'A IS ESSENCE OF ALL WORSHIPS. Call upon your Lord in a state where you are humble. While you're talking to Allah, that is the time He loves you most.
  • Allah WILL ALWAYS listen to you as long as you turn and seek Him.
    Bila berharap, carilah Allah
    Bila kesusahan, mintalah padaNya
    Bila kesedihan, adulah kepadaNya
Bila gembira, kongsilah dan berterima kasihlah kepada Allah SWT
    DEKATKAN DIRI kpdNya
Barulah Allah akan sentiasa bersama kita~! -part credits to Merah-
  • We need to be conscious! (Shaykh Hamza Yusuf addressed this in the video I posted in the post before this) ALWAYS! Don't be unaware or be in a heedlessness state. SEEK ALLAH'S BLESSINGS~! Make du'a to Allah so things are made easy for you. Make 'em du'a when you leave home, travel (btw, musafirs should pray more as I heard that you get more erm.. ajr/pahala is it? Oops hehe, I forgot what the extras are exactly.. but just pray a lot if you're a traveler ok? No harm doing it =D), etc. Basically, practise performing supplications. =)
  • As we make du'a, also don't forget to make du'a for people around you, make du'a for goodness. Try not to just make du'a for yourself only all the time. It's kinda selfish no? Others want and need your du'as too^^
  • Do you know that today we are blessed and fine because there is someone out there who makes du'a for us? WE HAVE TO BE CONSCIOUS of that; that there are people praying for us, hence we should also make prayer for others. PARENTS' PRAYERS especially, are ALWAYS accepted. WE FAIL TO REALISE that it is not "I", it is the du'a of the people around us! Make du'a for everyone: for someone who has done us something good, who did us favours, who are always so kind and thoughtful, willing to share knowledge with you and YES, even for those who has wrong against you~! Make du'a for them, for Allah to guide them to entail a new, improved journey/path. Du'a for your country! WE NEED TO REALISE THE CONSCIOUSNESS IN "MAKING DU'A FOR PPL AROUND(NOT LITERALLY) YOU"~!!
  • Do you also know that we can start making du'a for our children, even if they're not born into this dunya yet. You don't actually have to wait till they are around for you to make du'a for them. You can gradually & continually du'a for your child so as to how you wish them to be and not to be, etc.
  • REMEMBER TO THANK ALLAH. Giving thanks to Him is a must for me, everyday! How do I ensure so as to not forget thanking Him? Well, simple as ABC, I just include "this" in my solats and since solats are compulsory everyday, putting "this" into your prayers will ensure your gratefulness to Him EVERY SINGLE DAY! MashaAllah, He will be pleased with you! =)
  • DO NOT be discouraged if your prayers do not get answered once in a while. Whoever said that life's gonna be a smooth sail huh? =p And you know, sometimes, your prayers don't get answered at that time, maybe the reward will come later or in another form that you don't expect and yada yada.. Just trust & have faith in Him. After all, He Knows what's best for us!
  • Another point I'd like to highlight that is mentioned by the Shaykh is that Du'as don't need to be made in any certain language. Just talk to Him. Du'a for Him to give you the ability to trust & understand His reason for placing you here on Earth, know your purpose of life, protect your Iman and etc.
Okay, this is the end for this speaker. I have prepared the notes on Speaker 2 as well but my fingers are stinging quite a bit due to playing some music earlier. Shikes~ Anyway, I will continue in the next post aight~ inshaAllah.

1. PART 2/2: Justice Vs. Excellence~

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Salam alaik & Greetings,

Hope everyone's doing great and if not, just try to look on the bright side aight. You can always come up with something positive about anything in the world. Anyway, here's the cont. to the previous post~

  • We all have dreams & aspirations. "I want to bring about change," is something that has definitely crossed every person's mind BUT everyone tends to get set in due to complacency in life! What we should be doing is NURTURE & DEVELOP ourselves in terms of character, attitude, mind maturity, and life views~! Allah has given us many talents and we are responsible to find ways to use them to our advantage and make the best out of it à NOW THAT'S EXCELLENCE~!! And in achieving that level of excellence, we have to find the area that Allah has created for us where we can excel in! THIS IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT, TO LIVE YOUR PERSONAL LEGEND! We all need to be aware of our personal calling and what is a personal calling? It's God's blessing. It is the path that God chose for you here on Earth. Whenever we do something that fills our heart with enthusiasm, we then know that we are following our legend (excerpt from "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho) However, this is where the problem lies: We don't all have the courage to confront our dreams and hence we fail in transitioning from being average to becoming an outstanding individual~! If you do not work to have progress in your life, day in day out, just like that, everyday pass you by, then it merely shows that YOU'RE NOT ALIVE~
  • Allah has given us the power & ability to make change and to NEVER SETTLE FOR AVERAGE. A Muslim cannot & should not live without having great ambitions. That's not the life for great people and it is also not the original life that Allah wants for you!
"Excellence is a habit, not an act. It takes practice and perseverance."
  • Islam has several levels - 1) the basic level of believe with basic actions, 2) the level of higher Eman (what's in the heart is only part of Eman)

Saturday, June 18, 2011

1. PART 1/2: Never settle for average! Go for high Excellence~!!

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamu' alaykum warahmatullah wa barakatuh & greetings to all,

Hopefully everyone's in the pink of health and for us Muslims, may we always be in our highest state of Iman. So, as I've mentioned the other day, I'd like to share what I gained from the Islamic Conference that I attended recently and alhamdulillah, today Allah has given me the opportunity and the time to write on one of the topics.

Okay, before I dive into today's post, I'd like to outline the topics that I will address in the few next posts:

1. Justice vs Excellence (This post)
2. Call on Me (Part 1, Part 2)
3. What is Love? (Part 1, Part 2)
4. Raising a Child
5. The Walking Qur'an
6. The Perfect Storm

Please note that my writings are based on my note-taking coupled with my annotations. Thank you.

  • When an ordinary Muslim takes the initiatives to undergo a transformation by taking a leap in lifestyle or habits in order to become an outstanding Muslim à this is what we call Islam ! ISLAM (A Muslim) IS OUTSTANDING~!!
  • Halal & Haram are the bottomline in Islam BUT when a person mentions Islam, the first thing they speak of is the "Halal & Haram" subject. WHY SO?!! Why are you trying to hit the bottomline? Once you are under this, you are clearly in trouble and a dangerous state! Allah teaches us great things above line, so why do we always look at the most bottom requirements? Why do we constantly set that as our benchmark?! ISLAM IS PERFECTION, reaching the outstanding level~!!
~Excellence is the result of striving each day to do better than the last~
  • What are my obligations towards Allah SWT?

People think More money = More Happiness~~

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamu' alaykum warahmatullah wa barakatuh and greetings to all,

Many think that with money comes happiness: More money = More Happiness. (How sad and lame~!) Unfortunately, this equation does not hold true. *Tsk tsk* Sure, I acknowledge that it's not wrong in its entirety, but generally, that's not how happiness works. It’s how people live their life here, on Earth, which will determine what they achieve in this world and more importantly, how they will be treated and what they will be given in the Hereafter. However, most people in this world are fooled by this world's glamour and satan fools them by making the world appear oh-so-sweet and all that great. Satan also makes people think that they’re here just once, so you might as well enjoy yourselves whilst you are still around and another thing to highlight as well: people think that the more things they own, the better their life will be - the more cars, the more money, the more clothes, food, bigger/better houses, the better will be the quality of their lives. And people generally think that to have more money, they need to work harder. The harder they work, the more money they will earn and with more money, more things can be acquired. So how does the function look like in most minds? Well, more money --> more things --> more happiness --> better life --> live a great life (somewhere along that line). But this is where people are wrong and are greatly mistaken in their understanding. We must acknowledge and etch in mind that Allah has already ordained everything. Allah has written what Allah wants to give to each and every one of us. Allah has the power to give people things without even money and Allah has the power and the Kudrat to provide people with happiness without things. He is capable of providing human races with money and wealth.

(10:94) - If you were in doubt as to what We have revealed/given unto you, then ask those who have been reading the Book from Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt.
(10:107) - ...:if He designs some benefit for you, there is none can keep back His favour: He causes it to reach whomsoever of his servants He pleases. And He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Now, try pondering on the many cases throughout the world in history where people haven’t done much but they acquired great wealth, there are many cases where people don’t have many things but they’re very happy indeed, there are many people who have a lot of things in this life but they’re still not satisfied, and then there are the group of people in this world who work crazy hard but they don’t earn as much money. Allah says, “Do people think that they can decide how things are distributed? And Allah says, “I have distributed different things in the world, different amounts to different people.” Allah has given people different statuses here in the Dunya. Allah has put people in different positions in society so that people can complement (complete each others' lacking) and get along with one another. Can you imagine if everybody in this world are well off, then those many things/jobs that only poor and simple people(those who people think are in the low class society.) do will not get done. And if everybody is poor in this world, then mashaAllah, so many things, so many projects that need money and funding, but because no one has the money, these jobs also don’t get realised/executed. So, Allah has made some rich, some poor, some in between so that we can all help one another. The rich need the poor and the poor need the rich.

SINCERITY LINKS ONE 2 HAPPINESS~~

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh & greetings to all,

So it's about time that I post on this topic before I procrastinate any further~! Astaghfirulla. I can't believe that due to my hectic schedule lately, I am sort of neglecting my bond with my true love~! Astagfirullahaladzim! ==" Hence, I'm making it a point that I get this done today, by hook or by crook~!! =) Ok, let's jump to it right away before I start babbling on other stuff. Haha. Oh and by the way, please take note that this post is inspired by this writing.

Alright, let ana ask you one question: Have you ever wondered what is it that bridges(connects) one and his happiness? Hah, maybe you haven't and maybe you have, but never probed or delved in it eh? First off, here's another list of questions for you-->

  • Have you ever felt so easy and satisfied when you actually spend your money on others, be it strangers, friends, the poor/unfortunates, family, etc. compared to when spending it on yourself?
  • Or feel proud when you managed to get your friend a gift? (considering these days, gifts are no longer popular/a trend, which means "WOW" when someone actually brings along something)
  • Or ever felt so engrossed when performing your salahs(prayers), until you're so overwhelmed by His presence to the extend that you can feel Him listening and oh-so-close to you?!!
  • Or ever felt like He is directly talking to you when you read the Holy Al Qur'an, till your heart unconsciously feel that stab of excitement? That something which is truly magical that is beyond explanation by mere words?
  • Or ever cried while you're supplicating/dhikr/performing other forms of ibadah?

Doa penerang hati~

Bismillah.

YaAllah, mengapa tiba2 datang rasa sebegini?
Hatiku berdegup2 dan tidak tenang langsun, malah serabut amat.
Adakah ana telah bersalah terhadap seseorang insanMu yaAllah?
Telahkan hamba menyakiti insanMu yang lain tanpa kusedari?
Telahkah hamba mempergunakan insanMu yaAllah?
Jika jawapannya "Ya" buat mana2 soalan yang telah hamba tujukan,

WHERE HAVE OUR SENSE OF SHAME GONE TO ?!!~

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamu' alaykum warahmatullah wa barakatuh & greetings to all,

Ana hope that everyone's in their highest state of Iman and in the pink of health.

Shame covers a broad range of definitions. This post refers to the act against the accepted system of values/morality of a society, and in this case, I'm talking about the Muslim community. Shame does not involve only the act but it can also include the discovery by other people that the act has been done and committed.

"He who has done a shameful deed must conceal it, for revealing one's disgrace is to commit another disgrace!"

Please take note that the rest is highly inspired by Nouman Ali Khan.

The more you watch shamelessness, the more "animal" you become. The manifestation of that is, if you have no problem looking at something, staring at someone, where you're not looking at them as a decent human being but you're looking at them as an animal, as a piece of flesh, that's all you're looking at; that means you have no respect for your own mother, your own sister, your own daughter, your own wife: generally the women. You wouldn't want somebody to stare at the women of your family, but who you're staring at is also someone's mother, daughter, wife, sister, etc. So, WATCH IT~! Even if they don't have respect for themselves; the non-muslim women sometimes don't have respect for themselves, so they dress in inappropriate clothings, and even some Muslims dress inappropriately for that matter of fact in this modern day. BUT YOU have respect for yourself and the women of your family and hence do lower your gaze for that reason. Take this scene: It's really disgusting when the entire family sits together and they're watching a movie and suddenly shamelessness comes out and the mother and the daughter, husband and the son, brother, sister, everybody sitting together and just watching, mumbles "aw it's just one bed scene, it's okay." That is utterly disgusting and disturbing, it's not the behaviour of a Muslim family.WE SHOULD be disturbed by shamelessness, we should stand against it. IT IS one of the GREAT TROUBLES of this society. There are a lot of great troubles about our society but this is one of the thing that is destroying our youth i.e. over-exposure to shamelessness. It destroys one's character. In addition, nobody's supposed to look at a woman except her husband. Nobody's supposed to enjoy her beauty except her husband. You wouldn't want hundreds of men looking at her and saying, "ah, she's cute.. or masyaAllah, you have a very beautiful wife.." and if you were to hear any of these, you should actually feel disturbed by that. We're also supposed to feel as disturbed when we're looking at non-mahrams, we're supposed to have that sense of shame. I don't know where it has gone to, on some vacation nowadays. For a lot of Muslims, they're on vacation. Come on, REVIVE THE SENSE OF SHAME~! It is very important as without it, it may destroy your family life, it will be difficult for you to have a healthy marriage, you will certainly not raise good children, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SENSE OF SHAME~! You have to regain your sense of shame. The kind of filth that is on television, the kinds of things you're watching. Get over yourself and get over yourself with the obsession of entertaining yourself. You're a free person, THERE IS LIFE OTHER THAN TELEVISION, OTHER THAN MOVIES, OTHER THAN WHATEVER.COM, and whatever else. There's still a life outside~!! There's still oxygen outside to breathe, you'll survive, trust me~! You'll still be alive even if you abandon these things. In fact, you'll be much happier too. Okay, the thing is, I'm always telling you what not to do. So, then, what's there to do? Well, find time for sport and some healthy activities to get yourself involved in. I'm not saying you have to find religious activities and that sorts, I don't expect that from you but what I expect from you is to find activities that don't make you a worse human being. You understand what I'm saying right? At least, please do no harm.

The elders shouldn't expect them youth to have the highest caliber of behaviour since you didn't raise them like that, so how can you expect that from them. It's unfair as well. You put them in public school, they didn't apply themselves. You exposed them to 8 hours of shamelessness everyday (assuming this is in a non-Muslim country), and then you expect your children to behave like angels? *shakes head* I'd say that that'd be asking for too much and is a ridiculous and an obvious unfair expectation~

MAIN MESSAGE TO CONVEY-->
So, my ikhwahs and akhawats, let's not put this "regaining of sense of shame" on hold anymore. We've reached an age where we shouldn't let ourselves continue being drowned in the obsession of the worldly entertainment and pleasures. We're not little kids anymore. We're going into adulthood and we have to start learning to grow up and carry out our responsibilities. It's really fine to do it slowly or little by little, but the quintessential thing is for us to start this self-evolution process~ YOU have to take charge of your future and well being-ness. YOU need to take the initiative for YOUR OWN GOOD~!!

May Allah watch over us and shower us with His continuous blessings as well as give us the strength and spirit to take THE STEP towards HIM~!! Ameen.

WAllahua'lam bis sawab~

Why get angry? The next time, swallow that anger~!!

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

Syukur (gratefulness) alhamdulillah to Him for giving me this chance to write another post. Ana pray that everyone's Iman is in their highest state. Amin yaRabb.

So, as we all know, people tend to get very angry easily, at little things that annoys and gets them upset. But why? Why must you let these trivial things get to your nerves my dear ikhwah and akhawat(brothers and sisters)? Let's start to learn to swallow our anger~! Let's become those people who perseveres through these things. I mean if we get exasperated and mad about little and insignificant things, how can we expect Allah SWT to forgive our big sins? MashaAllah. We expect from Allah to not get angry at us and yet, here we are, human so weak and incessantly directing anger in every situation.

We need to learn how to forgive people out of love, not for them (those who did wrong against you), but for yourself~!! In order for your name to be in the list amongst the people who are considered the Mutaqqins. At times, you monologue and say to yourself, "but no, this case is different. This person really doesn't deserve forgiveness at all. What he did is so messed up..." And by the way, forgiveness is not given to people who deserve it, it is by definition: to give it to somebody who doesn't deserve it.

All this anger and negative reactions are what's craved by the satans. The satans will no doubt want to cause frictions and unhappiness to people, especially among us believers. So, never allow yourself to succumb to these evil desires or the satans are going to have their laugh for their sickening achievements. Lame satans. Be sure to get rid of them from empowering you my dear ikhwah and akhawat. Take actions NOW before it's too late. Remember, once contaminated, it will be more difficult to clean up.

Precautions my fellow friends.. Precautions~~

WAllahua'lam bis sawab.

Reminiscence & GRADES~!! He Knows, while you know not~!!

If ana wrote something which is not accurate, please tell (tegur) ana and forgive ana for ana's carelessness. Not intentional for sure.
Want an A+ from HIM? Earn it! Prove that you're worth His Attention, Mercy, Love, etc.. Or is the A+ from your teachers more meaningful to you?

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.,

Alhamdulillah for I'm still able to add a blog post today. I bid everyone to be in good health and in the highest state of Iman. Aminn.

So, it's half past midnight and I just got home from school. Am having quite a tummy discomfort at the moment. Maybe cos I only had a bagel as my dinner? Oh well, still grateful at least I get to fill my stomach with some food ! Alhamdulillah alhamdulillah ! It may sound like it's not a big deal but let's thank Allah whenever we can, be it small or big, because when we remember Him, He'll remember us in return ! Be sure that fact gets etched in your mind ! =) **am having a very warm and soothing camomile with mint tea in hopes of helping my tummy ache+toasted bread with honey and za'tar spice** thank you Allah^_^

Alright, now moving on to the main point of this post. Haha. Sorry for the quite irrelevant intro.

Ever recalled yourself saying/arguing with your teacher, lecturer, instructor, TA, you name it; about how every single point matters to you? How you mentioned, fought, and cried for pity to be granted that few meager points for it'd help towards your final grade? Pointing and highlighting to him/her how it's all about the grades? How important grades are to you? Now now, try thinking when was the last time you thought/felt similarly with your SOLATS (prayers) ?! Dear ikhwah & akhawat (brothers & sisters), we human tend to allow ourselves to drown in the dunya. I mean, try pondering: Will those so called 'GREAT GRADES' guarantee you Jannah (paradise) ? Will those "grades" promise you His rewards? Will those "grades" please Him? or lead you to yhour ULTIMATE HAPPINESS? No, the answer to ALL those questions is a flat N O, NO! Do you realise how worked up especially us students (well obviously, this is the group of target since it's bout grades..) can get when it comes to grades and results? DO YOU GET THAT WORKED UP WHEN YOU MISS YOUR SOLAT(S) ?!! Astaghfirulla.. astaghfirullah.. astaghfirullahaladzim...~!! -_-"

(2:151-152)
Even as We have sent among you a Messenger (Muhammad S.A.W.) of your own, reciting to you Our Messages (the Al Qur'an) and purifying you, and teaching you the Scripture (the AQ) and the Hikmah (i.e. Sunnah, Islamic Laws and Fiqh), and teaching you that which you used not to know (new knowledge). Therefore remember Me; I shall remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith (do not defy/act ungrateful with Me) !

However, this does not mean I'm encouraging you to not care about your grades at all. This does not also give you the green light to not put in your best efforts in your studies. Sure thing, school and its grades are pretty big deal for us because when it comes to black and white, what's seen are the letters imprinted on the official document. However, that is no reason for us to become too obsessed with it, and I quote, "God helps those who help themselves." Remember and keep in mind that we as Muslims who have Him with us, should live a lifestyle that aligns His words i.e. the Holy Al Qur'an. Always, always, apply the D.U.I.T. principle - Doa (Pray) . Usaha (Effort) . Ikhtiar (Initiative) . Tawakkal (Trust) . ~~~

Doa Usaha Ikhtiar Tawakkal = DUIT! Do It! =D

InsyaAllah, after applying D.U.I.T., whatever befalls you then, is what's best for us. Accept with open heart - we call it REDHA (kita redha je lah dgn apa yg direzekikan olehNya kpd kita). Maybe at the moment, you wouldn't understand why or maybe even to the extend of being really disappointed and sad, but "la tahzan (don't be sad)", -

(2:216)
"...but it is possible that you love a thing which is bad for you; and that you dislike a thing which is good for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not."

ALLAH KNOWS BEST~!

OK, ana will pen again another time. Now, it's time for me to finish my camomile mint tea and then tug myself in bed.

WAllahua'lam.

p/s: Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah for giving me the hidayah to write an article coupled with scriptures/verses from the AQ. Alhamdulillahi lathee bini-matihi tatimmus saalihaat. =)

Forgive others for FORGIVING is part of a MUTAQQIN~

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Beneficient, Most Merciful

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. dear readers,

When we do wrong against Allah by breaching the Islamic ways of life, we SIN against Him but it's easy for us to seek for forgiveness from Him because He is Most Forgiving God. However, when we sin against each other (human race), we have to face that person we have done wrong to and ask for his/her forgiveness. Many people find it hard to forgive what more forgetting what you've done to hurt them. Still, bear this in mind ikhwah and akhwat (brothers and sisters), a Muslim who is able to forgive someone else's mistakes, is one with the features of a Mutaqqin (Muslim yang bertaqwa).

Let's do act of kindness to people instead of being mean or manipulative. Why make life such a drag and complicated when it can be so simple and sweet? =)

(4:36) "... and do good - to parents, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are near, neighbors who are strangers, the Companion by your side... for Allah does not love the arrogant, the vainglorious; - "

Dear Allah, please protect our family members so that we are protected from Your Punishment. (yaAllah, lindungilah keluarga kami agar kami terpelihara dari azab seksaanMu.)

WAllahua'lam.

Jangan terkejar KESEMPURNAAN dalam BERCINTA~

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim - in the name of Allah, Most Beneficient, Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah,

Sekadar ingin berkongsi artikel yang dijumpai di blog akhwat lain. Moga dapat belajar satu dua perkara dari coretan berikut -->

Jika kamu memancing ikan . . .
setelah ikan itu terlekat di mata kail . . .
hendaklah kamu mengambil ikan itu. . .
jangan sesekali kamu LEPASKAN semula kedalam air begitu sahaja . . .
kerana ia akan SAKIT kerana bisanya . . .
ketajaman mata kail kamu & ia mungkin akan MENDERITA selagi ia masih hidup . . .

Begitulah juga . . .

Setelah kamu memberi banyak PENGHARAPAN kepada seseorang . . .
setelah dia mula MENYAYANGI kamu . . .
hendaklah kamu MENJAGA hatinya . . .
janganlah sesekali kamu terus MENINGGALAKNYA begitu sahaja . . .
kerana dia akan TERLUKA oleh kenangan bersamamu . . .
dan mungkin TIDAK dapat MELUPAKAN segalanya selagi dia masih mengingatimu . . .

___________________________________________________________________

Jika kamu MENADAH air biarlah berpada . . .
jangan terlalu berharap pada takungannya dan menggangap ia begitu teguh. . .
cukuplah sekadar untuk KEPERLUANMU sahaja. . .
kerana apabila ia mula retak. . .
tidak sukar untuk menampal dan memperbaikinya semula. . .
dan bukannya terus dibuang begitu sahaja. . .

begitulah juga. . .

Jika kamu sedang memiliki seseorang. . .
TERIMALAH dia seadanya. . .
janganlah kamu terlalu mengaguminya dan menggangapkan dia begitu istimewa. . .
anggaplah dia manusia biasa. . .
kerana apabila dia melakukan KESILAPAN. . .
tidaklah sukar untuk MEMAAFKAN dan MEMBOLEHKAN
hubungan kamu akan TERUS ke akhir hayat
dan bukannya MENGHUKUMNYA dan MENINGGALKAN
dia begitu sahaja kerana kamu merasa terlalu kecewadengan sikapnya. . .
lalu semuanya akan TERHENTI begitu sahaja. . .

_________________________________________________________________

Jika kamu MEMILIKI sepinggan nasi. . .
yang kamu pasti baik untuk diri kamu. . .
yang MENGENYANGKAN dan BERKHASIAT. . .
mengapa kamu perlu berlengah lagi?
cuba mencari makanan yang lain? . .
kerana terlalu ingin mengejar kelazatan. . .

MEYAYANGIMU. . .MENGASIHIMU. . . dan MENCINTAIMU. . .
mengapa kamu berlengah lagi?
cuba membandingkannya dengan yang lain. . .
terlalu mengejar KESEMPURNAAN. . .

Just a side note to add: Please bear in mind that if you want His blessings in your love life, let it be only when you're married to someone (as we all know that dating is not recognised in Islam). Apply this to your marriage life for an ever lasting marriage both here on Earth and Hereafter.  Bersyukurlah (be thankful) to Allah for whomever He has given unto you as He knows best what's good and what's not for you. Panjatkanlah sykur kepada illahi dgn jodoh yang ditetapkanNya untukmu. Moga2 Allah merahmati segalanya.

WAllahua'lam

p/s: Sorry for posting writings on this topic. It's not ana's intention but somehow, these topics are popular on other blog sites that ana happen to come across. This has nothing to do with ana's personal life. Please don't judge and you know what, even if you do, ana don't really care actually. What's most important to ana is Allah's thoughts and views on ana. peace~ ^_^v
